Airtel (Touchtel) broadband is Bharti Enterprises group company. It provides broadband internet services in Delhi, Chandigarh, Tamil Nadu, Karnataka, Madhya Pradesh, Haryana & UP West. They are also available in a few areas of Mumbai. The tariffs are different according to location. Since they use DSL technology, they also provide a combination plan with a telephone line.
Compared to other broadband providers in India, they seem to have a relatively better system and customer service. However the internet usage is not shown on a real time basis. If you download data or surf website, the information will be updated after 1-2 days. Like all the broadband service providers, you will be billed for data transfer if your modem is switched on, even if you are not connected to the internet.

Now airtel broadband has changed the email id for its subscribers to @airtelbroadband.in from @touchtelindia.net . Since Airtel Broadband is not available in Mumbai, we are able to analyse their offer. We have a large number of companies listed with us , who use airtel broadband (their email id is @touchtelindia.net ) and often emails sent to them bounce back.
This is due to a problem with the email server.

Though all the broadband companies spend so much on ADSL technology, they seem to have a problem having a reliable email server. Most ISPs do not allow sending with any other email id i.e , you cannot send a email using your VSNL email id , with your airtel broadband connection. Tata Indicom VSNL is more reliable compared to email servers of other ISPs like roltanet but we still occasionally face problems. If you use email for important correspondence, you should ask everyone on your mailing list to mark a copy to 2-3 email ids.
