After liberalization in 1990s, most Indian companies have tried to reduce costs by cutting down on their staff. Most of the clerical work is outsourced to data entry agencies or operators. Handwritten information/data in forms, is entered in the computer , usually in spreadsheet format for further processing processing by software. Any other source of dataentry and DTP work are printers. Almost every neighborhood has a printer who does printing work of bill books, visiting cards, letterheads, pamphlets and brochures for all the small shops and businesses in the area. Offline data entry work offered by us
Generally , best rates are obtained when a vendor directly interacts with the company outsourcing the work. If the work is further subcontracted , the rates tend to be lower. Though data entry work is done at home, some visits to the company are required to collect the inputs, understand the requirement and follow up for payments. Many large companies pay their vendors, 30 days after the work is completed.
Data entry work which involves conversion of Acrobat reader files to work documents are usually scams, since many free software exist to automatically convert information from PDF files to other file formats. It is more economical to pay the one time cost of this software then pay the vendors regularly for conversion.
We currently have a few vendors who work from home for us. The work involves converting unformatted text data into spreadsheet and classify as per our criteria. We pay per entry, by Mumbai cheque or Money Order after completion of a minimum amount of work. Details of offline work offered by us.
