Most businesses,  today need a website to display their products or services. However there are very few companies in India, which offer  web hosting, domain registration services at competitive prices and are honest. We  have 8 websites and have hosted our websites  with more than 5 different companies offering web hosting and domain registration services. We  have had to change due to the dishonest practices, poor service or exorbitant rates charged by Indian web hosting companies.

Usually a company pays their  website developer to register their domain name, design the website and arrange to host the website. Despite taking full payment  for domain name registration, the website developer often does not register the company as the registrant. Usually the website developers email, is given as the registrants email, in the Whois records which are master records, defining ownership of the website. By offering good customer service for domain registration services, you can earn a regular income.

There are a limited number of datacenters in India and most of the domains registered in India have their websites  hosted outside India. The rates offered by established web hosting companies in India are very high, usually 10 MB web space costs Rs 1000 per year. For additional space, they do not offer substantial discounts - typically for 20MB  web space, rates will be Rs 1800 and for 30 MB space,  Rs 2500 annually. Internationally , 6000MB web space is available for Rs 8000 per year. So you can purchase hosting from a Web hosting company in USA  and resell it India at a substantial profit. Most Indian companies offer web design services and  charge Rs 1000 per page. This work involves interaction with the customer and may involve visits to the customers office to collect inputs and photos. Basic design knowledge and a good sense of aesthetics are required
