If you already have a useful website and you apply for Google Adsense, you will be usually approved within 2-3 days. You can then login into your account, copy and paste the Adsense code on all pages of your website.  Relevant ads will be visible to  visitors to your website within 24 hours. You will be paid per click and the amount depends on how much the advertisers have bid for a click on that particular advertisement through Google Adwords. The minimum bid amount is US$0.01 and can be multiple dollars for expensive and competitive product categories. You may also be paid on a per page view basis (CPM) , if  an advertiser has selected your website for displaying their advertisement.

You can track your earnings through the statistics provided by Google. These include the number of page views, number of clicks and earnings per click. The page views can be significantly lower than those shown by Web statistics software like Webalizer or AWstats. Webalizer does not differentiate between human visitors and robots, spiders, so the difference in page views can be very large. Websites related to travel, finance and computer related products generally earn a lot of revenue with Adsense. Forums, which have a large number of repeat visitors have a low CTR and this results in low effective CPM. It is difficult to find the top paying keywords, since payments  are determined by bids of a large number of advertisers. Depending on the conversion rates, the advertiser get a further discount from Google , known as "smart pricing". Generally , the larger the number of pages and visitors to your website, the higher your earnings. 

After the balance in your account reached US$50, Google will send a PIN for verification of address. After the earnings in your account  first reach US$100, Google  will check for click fraud - whether you have clicked on advertisements to increase the revenue or  used some other illegal means. If  invalid clicks are detected, the Adsense account is terminated and no payment is made to the publisher. Payment is made by cheque in Indian rupees or  US dollars. The cheque is sent by post by the 28th of the month from Singapore for  publishers in India. If the postal service is not reliable in your area ,or if you need the money urgently, you can request delivery by courier. The additional cost is US$25 (approx. Rs1000)
